Terms of Service

Last updated October 29, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the yourshop.expert website and any services engaged through it. By using this site or hiring us for Shopify-related work, you agree to these Terms.

This is a starting template for a solo freelance practice. It is not legal advice — review and customize it before relying on it in production.

Services

yourshop.expert provides Shopify theme design and development, conversion-rate optimization, creative marketing support, and related consulting. Specific deliverables, timelines, and fees are agreed in writing for each project (email, proposal, statement of work, or invoice is sufficient).

Hourly Billing & Estimates

Work is typically billed hourly unless otherwise agreed. Estimates are good-faith projections, not fixed bids, unless explicitly stated as fixed-price. Actual time may vary based on scope changes, third-party dependencies, or feedback cycles.

Invoices are due according to the payment terms stated on the invoice. Late or incomplete payment may pause work until the account is current.

Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide timely access, content, feedback, and approvals needed to complete the work
  • Ensure you have rights to materials you supply (brand assets, copy, product data, etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate Shopify plan access and admin permissions for the store we are working on
  • Review deliverables carefully before launch or handoff

Intellectual Property

Upon full payment, you own the custom deliverables created specifically for your project, excluding third-party tools, open-source libraries, stock assets, and reusable frameworks or know-how we bring to engagements.

We may showcase completed work in our portfolio and marketing unless you request otherwise in writing before project start.

Third-Party Services

Shopify, apps, themes, hosting, analytics, and payment processors are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or limitations of third-party platforms.

Warranties & Disclaimers

Services are provided professionally and in good faith. Except as required by law, we make no other warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Results such as conversion rate, traffic, or revenue improvements depend on many factors outside our control and are not guaranteed.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to the services or these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages.

Termination

Either party may pause or end an engagement with written notice. You remain responsible for fees for work performed through the effective end date, including approved but unfinished scope where time has already been spent.

Refunds

Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy.

Website Use

You may not misuse this website, attempt unauthorized access, scrape content at scale, or use the site for unlawful purposes. Site content is provided for informational purposes and may change without notice.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
